Come help us celebrate the harvest and the beautiful New England autumn at the peak of autumn color. Learn how food makes its way from the farm to the dining room table. Meet our oxen and see multiple teams demonstrate plowing and preparing the fields. Learn more about heritage breed animals and talk with breeders.

Savor samples at field-to-table food demonstrations with renowned area chefs who will prepare iconic New England dishes, purchase a meal at a food court, and stroll through an exhibit of locally grown fruits, vegetables and flowers presented by home gardeners.

Help with the harvest, taste heirloom apples, and learn about methods of food preservation. Watch interpreters cook with tomatoes and quince. Help pick apples and taste the different heirloom varieties. The Cider Mill will be operating this weekend (and most weekends in October), with apples ground by ox-power on Saturday and the pulp pressed for its juice on Sunday.  You can even get in on the act with a hand-powered "cider mill".

Join our costumed interpreters as they:
• Harvest apples, potatoes, carrots, and beets
• Give tours of the orchard
• Put the Herb Garden "to bed" for the season
• Conduct garden and root cellar tours and discuss food preparation
• Grind corn with a "quern"
• Thresh and winnow grain
• Shell corn and beans
• Churn butter

This special festival is included with regular admission and ticket fees:
