Mass Audubon's Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary will be offering a variety of naturalist guided kayak trips throughout the Mid and Upper Cape. Join our experienced naturalists as we escape the crowds and discover the rich aquatic life and beauty of Cape Cod.
Kayaking offers a unique and intimate connection to wildlife that is truly memorable. We will experience some of the Cape's most pristine waterways such as the Herring River in Harwich. The Herring River is among the most wild and scenic rivers on Cape Cod due to protection afforded it by the town of Harwich. As its name implies, it is a corridor for migrating herring. Wildlife abound along the peaceful banks and expansive marsh.
Weather may shorten trip - depending on conditions of seas and wind. This trip is intended for those with previous kayaking experience, yet all experience levels are welcome. Children 12 and over may participate with a parent. Participants will be required to wear a life vest. Kayaks, paddles and life vests provided. Of course you are welcome to bring your own kayak if you'd like but will not receive a discounted price. Please let us know if you will be bringing your own so we know how many we'll need to provide.
