Dante's Inferno - Live Score by Maurizio Guarini (GOBLIN)
Peabody Essex Museum
161 Essex St. Salem, MA
Sunday, October 13th, 2019
2:00pm-3:30pm
Based on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, Dante’s Inferno was Italy’s first feature film and remains one of the earliest and most iconic depictions of Hell on screen. From its sumptuous mise en scène combined with revolutionary special effects creating imagery that remains shocking by today’s standards, director Giuseppe de Liguoro’s realization of Alighieri’s Hell on screen continues to define fire and brimstone in the public’s imagination to this day.
Maurizio Guarini, founding member of the synth-horror group GOBLIN (Suspiria, Zombi 2) will be performing the score live in his Salem Horror Fest debut.
